Easter in Montelepre has a very ancient tradition given that the first evidence of this celebrated holiday, and in particular of the procession of the Mysteries, dates back to the seventeenth century. At that time the fulcrum of the celebrations was within the feud of Monchilebi but it is assumed that over the centuries the tradition was then brought to Montelepre with the establishment of the new inhabited nucleus. The inspiration for the representation of the procession of the Mysteries, then, is taken from a text dated 1741 by the author Luigi Sarmiento who created a real manual to make the procession even more solemn. How to get to Montelepre

Visitors coming from Trapani will instead follow the A29 and then the E933 while those who decide to reach Montelepre from Syracuse will first have to take the A19 and then continue to their destination on the E932. Finally from Messina the right way is the A20 followed by the E90.

Those who prefer to travel on the train instead they will have to refer to the stations of Carini and Partinico because Montelepre does not have its own railway station. From these localities the destination will then be reachable through the local bus lines made available by the AST company.
