The event begins with the processional procession ready to travel along the main streets of the historic center, during which the devotees pay their vows to their respective Patron Saints, running half naked as a sign of humility.
At night, however, a surreal atmosphere is created, to say the least, as the screams of the faithful alternated with suggestive silences.

What to do during the Feast of Sant'Alfio in Lentini

If you go to Lentini for the Feast of Sant'Alfio, it would be a real shame to miss the procession which involves the transport of the Saint Fercolo in silver containing the relics of the three martyrs plus the statue of Sant'Alfio seated.
The procession starts from the Cathedral and is announced with the launch of colored papers, balloons and fireworks.
The walk continues until the evening to reach the small church of the Holy Cross, where some exciting folkloristic moments are held, to say the least.
On the evening of 10 and 11 May the statue of Sant'Alfio is then displayed near the Potta Iaci triumphal arch to allow veneration by the faithful.
On the morning of May 11th, the Holy Mass is held in the former Cathedral, and then continues with another procession that lasts until late at night.
The celebration ends with the repositioning of the fercolo in the Cathedral and with a fireworks display in the square.
