It was erected by the will of the Dominican friars between 1720 and 1750 and contains various works of art of great interest, primarily the high altar covered with some glass plates painted in oil plus a wooden chapel in which the the statues of San Domenico and the Madonna del Rosario.
When you turn your gaze towards the ceiling, it will be possible to feast your eyes admiring both the bell tower's cusp covered with blue and white colored majolica, and the oil-painted wooden tables.
Once you have climbed the thirty-eight steps set in the walls that flank the church, you have the opportunity to access the four balconies of the bell tower which offer an astonishing panorama.
It should also be noted that the mosaic work of art called Two Worlds in Comparison, created by the artist Nico Nicosia, was recently placed in the place.
It consists of an enormous panel in pure gold and murrine, the dimensions of which correspond to a height of three meters and a length of fifteen meters.
The motif depicted is instead aimed at telling the story of the caravel voyage undertaken by Christopher Columbus.

I ruins of the Church of Santa Maria della Scala in Ucria are located in the town of the same name located in province of Messina.
To reach this location, by car, starting from the latter city, it is necessary to take the A18 motorway and the 116 state road, the A20/E90 motorway or the A18/E45 motorway and the 116 state road.
If you prefer to get here using public transport, both are available bus numbers that trains departing from the Messina Centrale train station and stopping at Patti-San Piero Patti, from which you can take a taxi.
Unfortunately Ucria is not covered by the urban transport service.
