The most beautiful beaches and the promenade of Spadafora are the great wealth of the town, where, however, there are also other treasures, such as the interesting artistic heritage of the historic center or the tasty local culinary traditions.

The Spadafora seafront stretches for about 4 km between Rometta Marea and Venetico, mirroring itself in clear and transparent waters. In the village you will find accommodation facilities ready to welcome you with all the comforts and from here it will be really easy to reach the most beautiful beaches in the area, to spend a relaxing holiday, but at the same time full of adventures.

The seafront of Spadafora

The stretch of state road that runs along the sea at Spadafora takes the name of Nauloco promenade and extends for about 4 km. In this stretch of the coast, the houses of the town are a stone's throw from the sea, from which they are separated only by the road and a wide sidewalk.

Here it is possible to take long walks breathing in the sea breeze, run or cycle in the coolest hours of the day or enjoy an ice cream overlooking the sea. In the eastern part of the town, the seafront is embellished by green areas, with trees, palms and grass, which make the panorama even more fascinating. In this area the beach is characterized by light sand and shallow water.

Access to the sea is free and to spend a pleasant day on the beach, all you have to do is choose the stretch of coast you prefer, with the possibility of renting umbrellas and sunbeds.

Venice beach

Between Spadafora and Fondachello, on the Lungomare Nauloco di Venetico, this sand and pebble beach is a quiet lido, suitable for families or couples. Near the beach you can park your car or motorbike for free, but paid parking is also available.

La beach is free and easily accessible to all, for sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the beach; moreover, there are areas dedicated to playing for the little ones or to sports activities, such as beach volleyball. There are also nearby bathing facilities and places to go for lunch or dinner.

The free beach in Rometta Marea

Leaving Spadafora and continuing along the seafront towards the north-east, you arrive at Rometta Marea, where the free beach is perfect for lovers of rocks e rocks. The lido is in fact mainly composed of pebbles and the transparent sea acquires ever-changing colors.

Easy to access and equipped with large areas for free parking, the lido is equipped to really welcome everyone, offering bathers the opportunity to sunbathe on the beach, swim, participate or act as spectators in the numerous sporting activities that can be done on the beach.

From beach volleyball to paddle, there are many areas for sports, while in the water you can snorkel, or rent small boats, to explore the deeper waters.

The beach of Saponara Marittima 

Finally, among the beaches that can be easily reached from Spadafora, we mention the lido of Saponara Marittima, which is about 5 km from the town.

This free beach is small and reserved, comfortable and easily accessible to all. After a dip in the sea, you can take a shower and relax in the sun. There are no bathing establishments or other structures on the lido, so this beach is especially suitable for those who do not like confusion. Near the lido there is a free parking for those arriving by car; dogs are also allowed on the beach.

The area is particularly suitable for the snorkeling, given the conformation of the seabed and the presence of rocks.

History and flavors of Spadafora

The most beautiful beaches and the promenade of Spadafora will be the perfect location for a holiday to remember, but Sicily with its millenary history also offers you other unforgettable experiences, to be enjoyed during your stay in Spadafora: discover the historic centre, visiting the ancient Samona Castle of the fifteenth century in via Umberto I and the Church of the Sacred Heart in Spadafora (mother church) of the thirties of the twentieth century, to deepen the culture and traditions of the place.

If the Castle with its halls will take you back to the time of pirates, the Church will make you discover more recent works of art and religious events to reflect on. Another important passage of history in Spadafora is witnessed by Monument to the Fallen, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III.

The town also offers other glimpses to discover, such as those of the Borgo San Martino and the hamlet of Grangiara, where you can admire churches, squares and works of art kept in the meanders of the small villages.

How to get to Spadafora

Spadafora, along the northern coast of Sicily, is located in the Metropolitan City of Messina, from which it is just 24 km away. Reaching the town is easy, both for those traveling by car and for those arriving by train.

In driving feel, take the A18 Messina-Catania taking the exit for Rometta Marea, about 4 km from the town; in train, get off at Milazzo station and continue by bus or shuttle for the next 11 km to the centre.

The most beautiful beaches and the promenade of Spadafora are located in the immediate vicinity of the town: the promenade can be reached on foot from anywhere in the town, while to get to the nearby beaches, it is possible to take the car or public transport.
