Things to do in Paceco

Among the scenic beauties of the country, the Oriented Nature Reserve must certainly be counted Saline of Trapani and Paceco. A protected oasis and protected by the WWF, as it represents a clear example of perfect coexistence between numerous biodiversity, where salt extraction is still carried out today.

Following the path of the Salt Street, an itinerary that unites the twenty-seven salt pans still active in the areas of Paceco, Marsala and Trapani, you will come across the Salt Museum. A place capable of exhaustively telling the whole story of the salt pans of Trapani.

As we have already said, Paceco is famous for the fruits that nature offers it, such as the red garlic of Nubia and the sea salt of Trapani. The Red Garlic Festival and a gastronomic event which is held every year on the second weekend of September and which attracts the attention not only of the citizens of the town of Paceco but also those of the neighboring municipalities.

Another event that is renewed every year is that of Cuccia Festival in Paceco, which takes place on the occasion of the Feast of Santa Lucia, on 13 December. The kennel consists of one typical specialty of the territory, halfway between sweet and savoury, which is prepared with chickpeas and wheat.
