Things to do in Palazzo Adriano

All the historical vicissitudes of Palazzo Adriano are clearly visible in the small Old Town, which contains many traces of its past. Among the monuments that deserve a visit there is obviously the Mother Church of the country, as well as the Church of Maria Santissima Assunta with a Byzantine, Neoclassical and Baroque architectural style and the Monti di Palazzo Adriano and Valle del Sosio nature reserve which include the so-called Gorge of the Sosiowith a calcareous consistency.

To visit Palazzo Adriano you can also take advantage of one of the many events that are organized in the village, such as the patronal feast dedicated to San Nicola di Bari which is celebrated every year on December 6 and the Cuccia Festival, an event that brings together faith and folklore and which concerns in particular the Albanian community of Porta Palazzo.

Getting around Palazzo Adriano

A Palazzo Adriano we don't find many means of public transport, even if there are some bus numbers. In our opinion, the ideal is to move with your own means of transport (car, motorbike, bicycle, etc.).

You can always decide to visit the center on foot, to discover the streets of the village, but also the squares and churches. By doing so, you also have the opportunity to taste all the typical dishes of the village directly from the producers of the area and in the inns located in the centre.

How to get to Palazzo Adriano

Those who wish to reach Palazzo Adriano can do so by car starting from Palermo and going along the SS118. Those who, on the other hand, move from Trapani will have to choose the SS188 while from Messina they will first take the A20 and then the E90. Those who leave from Catania can reach their destination by choosing the A19, from Syracuse first the A19 and then the E932, finally from Enna the reference road is the Ss189.

Palazzo Adriano does not have its own railway station, so those who prefer to move with the train they can do so by taking the nearby stations of Cammarata San Giovanni, Acquaviva or Roccapalumba-Alia as a reference: from here they can then continue with the bus numbers premises made available by the public company AST.
