Things to do in Frazzanò
One of the historical milestones of Frazzanò is linked to the birth of a Basilian cenacle, the San Filippo di Fragalà Monastery located 3 km from the historic center of Frazzanò.
Another of the attractions not to be missed is the Mother Church of the Madonna Annunziata: its history seems to date back to 1117 and is intertwined with that of Queen Adelasia of Vasto.
During the month of August the Frazzanò Folk Fest, a festival of ethnic music from the South, Sicily and the Mediterranean basin where singers and musical groups perform in front of a crowd of tourists and onlookers.
In August we celebrate the Patron Saint of Frazzanò, Saint Lawrence. A religious event that turns into a popular festival.
How to get around in Frazzanò
Our advice is to visit the historic center on foot, to discover the alleys, squares and churches. In doing so, you also have the opportunity to taste and savor all the typical dishes of the town directly from the producers of the area and in the inns that are found in the streets of the centre.
If you want to move, in complete autonomy, towards the outermost areas, such as the Monastery of San Filippo Fragalà which is 3 km from the centre, we advise you to move with your own means of transport (car, motorbike, bicycle, etc.).
How to get to Frazzanò
Frazzanò, in the Metropolitan City of Messina, can be reached by car or train.
From the A20 Messina-Buonfornello the closest exits for travellers by car are those of Rocca di Capri Leone, just 4 km away and S. Agata di Militello, 10 km from the town.
By train, travelers can get off at the S. Agata di Militello station and continue by bus or shuttle to the centre.
