Sunset on Etna: a unique experience from Taormina
What You Will Experience
Begin your tour by boarding a bus with an expert guide, who will take you up to approximately 1.900 meters (6.233 feet) above Etna. From there, you will switch to jeeps to reach the main crater area at an altitude of 3.000 meters (9.840 feet), keeping a safe distance.
During the ascent, you will be guided by experts from the Italian Alpine Club (CAI). Mount Etna, located on the eastern coast of Sicily, is the highest active volcano in Europe and one of the most active in the world, with a history of eruptions dating back half a million years.
Once you reach the highest authorized area, stop to admire a breathtaking sunset, with the colors of the sun covering the volcano, the Valle del Bove and the surrounding panoramas. After sunset, ride the jeep back up to 1.900 meters and end the evening with dinner at a local restaurant (cost not included).
