The history of Manfria Beach

The history of the Manfria beach dates back to antiquity. In fact, the coast rises at the base of a Coastal tower of considerable strategic importance, capable of protecting the area from the assaults of African corsairs. It was built around the middle of the sixteenth century, on the occasion of the vice-reign of Giovanni De Vega. Over the centuries, it has been managed by superintendents and soldiers of various kinds, in addition to the Gravina families and the city of Terranova.
Also important is the legend of the good Manfrino, an unfortunate giant who lived with his sister, better known as Bella Castellana. He was enraptured by a beautiful blonde and tried to chase her, but without success. For several years he had the hope of seeing her again, but in vain. The Castellana organized various meetings to find her and the blonde showed up, but the nobles agreed to organize a plot against the young man. Eventually, Manfrino was paralyzed before being killed by the aristocrats.
