The choice of the dates of the Nebrodi Black Pig and Porcini Mushroom Festival in Cesarò is up to the municipality of the locality, in agreement with the Nebrodi Park Authority and the Province of Messina. Precisely for this reason the appointment does not fall on the same day every year but is always set in the month of October which is the one in which the collection of porcini mushrooms is richest. Usually the last 3 weekends of October are preferred, therefore on Saturdays and Sundays, so as to allow a larger audience to take part in the event, given that there are fewer work commitments on those days.

Where the event takes place

The event takes place in the entire Municipality of Cesarò. Since the event has a strong appeal for a very large audience, in reality the entire town is involved in its organization and one can find food and wine stands need local crafts in every alleyway. The main squares of Cesarò, however, are those designated to host the stages for the musical shows and other entertainment that characterize this unmissable event for all gluttons and gourmets, not only Sicilians but from every corner of Italy.

How to get to Cesaro

Reaching Cesarò is relatively simple even if the best way is once again theauto. In particular, the SS289 leads directly from Sant'Agata di Militello to Cesarò and is the main road for all those who have followed the A 20 motorway from Messina. The route from Palermo, however, is much simpler, because you only need to take the SS117 to your destination. Finally, from Catania it is necessary to travel along the Strada Statale 120 which is the one known by the name of Madonie.

Cesarò does not have its own train station, so the closest ones are the Capo D'Orlando or Sant'Agata di Militello stops, both connected to both Catania and Palermo. From these two stations, it is then possible to get to Cesarò via a local bus service.
