Campofelice di Fitalia it is a small village in the Metropolitan City of Palermo: around 730 people live here, at over 500 meters above sea level, all the inhabitants of the town. But in autumn, this small center of Pizzo Mezzaluna, surrounded by woods and famous for being the Wheat Country, is transformed into the largest cereal center in the area, showing its reality, its traditions and all its history to the many guests who come to visit.

Here the autumn event is the Grain Festival, in October: two full days dedicated tocereal activity, during which guests will be able to discover procedures and tools used for the grain cultivation, but also ancient rites and ceremonies of peasant civilization, all the great pieces that make up the History of Campofelice di Fitalia. But the Festival is also well established in the present, in fact there is no shortage of entertainment and shows, cooking shows and conferences, in addition to guided tours, which will accompany guests to discover the greatest beauties of the village.

Organized by the Cultural Association of the Museum of Wheat and Sicilian Peasant Civilization, the Grain Festival is a unique event, to get to know the local traditions and taste all the typical products of Campofelice di Fitalia!

The cereal sector has always been the strength of the local economy here in Campofelice di Fitalia and the festival dedicated to it is the most modern result of a tradition that has its roots in the last century; from the practice of life in the fields, the awareness of having to valorise the work of the farmers arises and so, year after year, studies, exhibition structures and festivals dedicated to cereals come to life, like those of the nineties; the decisive step took place in 2015, with the inauguration of Museum of Wheat and Sicilian Peasant Civilization, which has been responsible for organizing the Festival in Campofelice di Fitalia, in its most modern version, just like the one you can participate in today.

The initiative takes place under the patronage of the Municipality of Campofelice di Fitalia and the Sicily Region.
