Every day between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday sees one procession characteristic, each of which recalls one of the main passages of Holy Week. Among the most evocative processions of Easter Sortinese there is that of Christ at the Column, complete with a Simulacrum which is transported to the urban center of Sortino during the night between Holy Thursday and Good Friday, by all residents also known as "Sciuta do' Nummu ru Jesus”, that is, the coming out of the name of Jesus.

How to get to Sortino for Sortino Easter

It is really easy to reach Sortino, also because it is served by numerous road connections, such as the Provincial Roads 9, 28, 30 and 54, which are also crossed by the buses of the Sicilian bus lines.

The city of Sortino is very close to that of Syracuse, which represents an excellent solution for anyone who decides to travel to these places, given that the latter also enjoys the presence of a railway station and a port, perfect for arriving by different solutions.
Moving by plane, you can arrive earlier at Catania Fontanarossa Airport, about 50 km from Sortino, being able to reach it very easily even by renting a car directly at the airport.
