A Sicilian Easter is celebrated with ancient rites and traditions that bring the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus to the square: the Easter party in Siculiana it is a great event that has its roots in the seventeenth century, bringing with it objects, stories and customs from past centuries.

The Cross, the Urn and the same statues involved in the Easter Procession, were built between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as the Tabernacle and the statue of the Virgin.

It all begins in Palm Sunday; the most important stages are then those of Thursday and Good Friday, up to the Resurrection Sunday: the last supper is remembered, the Eucharist is celebrated, the rite of foot washing is repeated. The evening is the moment when the whole town follows the Procession of Our Lady of Sorrows, which recalls Mary's search for Jesus.

There are moments of great emotion, until Sunday when the joy of the faithful for the Resurrection of Christ explodes in the square, announced by the flight of doves, by colored ribbons and by the ringing of festive bells.
