The Museo delle Trame Mediterranee was originally a fortified farmhouse, i.e. a traditional construction that was part of a cluster of buildings dominated by a manor house.
After losing its intended use, this place was left to itself until 1982, when it was bought by the Municipality of Gibellina, which transformed it both into the current museum and into the headquarters of the Orestadi Foundation.
His true name is Stephen's beam, taken from its last owners, who were once surrounded by a garden full of mallow, rosemary, jasmine and basil.
As for the foundation, it happened in 1996 at the hands of Ludovico Corrao.

Although the entire structure was heavily damaged by bad weather and by the Belice earthquake, it still retains various original elements such as the fountain, the stone furnishings, the ancient terracotta pipes and the water storage tank.
In the center there is also a large sculpture entitled The Mountain of the Sun and made byartist Mimmo Paladino.
It is a work composed of fiberglass, crushed stone and cement, on which thirty gray wooden horses have been placed, some lying down, others standing.

The granary, on the other hand, houses both stage machines and various artifacts of local women's craftsmanship.
