Overlooking the wide Fourth November Square, austere and imposing, the Mother Church of Castell'Umberto it is the most important religious building in the country Metropolitan City of Messina, about 660 meters above sea level among the northern heights of the Nebrodi Mountains.

Inside, the Mother Church of Castell'Umberto holds great treasures: the statue of Santa Barbara, eleven bells, bas-reliefs and stained glass windows illustrating the lives of the Saints, sacred-themed paintings from the seventeenth century and a Crucifix from the same century, statues of the Saints and a marble group representing theAnnunciation, which is attributed to Gagini. There are also many other artistic wonders that visitors will be able to admire in person by visiting the Church.

Just 16 km from Castell'Umberto there is Fortress of Capri Leone, a town overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, from which you can also reach the beach; the municipality of Naso is located 14 km away, halfway between the hinterland and the sea. Messina is about 96 km away and can be reached with a car journey of about an hour and ten minutes.
