The ride of the Holy Crucifix of the Angels in Cammarata

The crucifix festival in Cammarata is the most important and ancient celebration of the municipality of the same name located in the province of Agrigento.

The vara has a square base surmounted by four pillars decorated with Corinthian style columns ready to support a sky on which, according to an ancient legend, an angel was present.
According to an inscription, it was also decorated in 1863 by Biagio and his son Salvatore Nicchia, two artists from Mussomeli.

The ride also has very ancient origins and the Palio it is carried by the person who has made a vow, to whom, while he deposits his generous offer, applause, marches and firecrackers are reserved for all the other participants.
