There is no certain information that can tell the story of the Pecora della Valle Del Belice but it is an event that certainly has a long tradition, given that it is said that it was also organized in previous centuries. On the other hand, the fair is closely linked to the reproduction of the Valle Del Belice sheep which has been bred for at least two centuries. Furthermore, exhibitions of historical Sicilian agricultural tools are often organized on the occasion of the event, a way to discover more closely a thousand-year-old tradition that has always characterized this corner of Sicily.

How to get to Santa Margherita di Belice

Those who wish to take part in the September Fair will be able to reach the village by car, directly from Agrigento or Catania via the Ss115 road, while those traveling from Palermo can choose the Ss624. From Messina the reference road is first the A20 and then the E90, while from Trapani the most suitable road is first the A29 and then the E933.
Finally, from Syracuse the best route involves passing first through the A19 and then the E932 while from Enna we recommend the Ss640.

Santa Margherita di Belice does not have its own train station, so those who want to arrive by train they will have to refer to the stations of Castelvetrano, Salemi Gibellina or Campobello di Mazara and from there continue with the local bus lines made available by the AST company.
