The main day of the Feast of the Guardian Angel is the 2 October, but throughout the city of Priolo Gargallo the celebrations are more lasting, so much so that they begin on September 28th. These are days of faith and rejoicing for the people of Priole, who highlight their culture through the many activities that recall the past.

Where the Guardian Angel Festival takes place in Priolo Gargallo

La Church of the Guardian Angel it is the place where the patronal celebrations of Priolo Gargallo begin, which then spread through the streets of the city. The historic center of Priolo Gargallo it is decorated to welcome the passage of the Patron Saint, instilling the right festive atmosphere.

What to do at the Guardian Angel Festival in Priolo Gargallo

On 28 September the celebrations begin with the traditional bell ringing, which in these parts is known as the "Scampaniata", and from 21 cannon shots. This heralds the passage of the Simulacrum of the Guardian Angel towards the altar, to then be carried by the faithful up to the Chiesa dell'Immacolata.

Here it will remain until October 1st, in which a second procession religious that accompanies the Simulacrum of the Guardian Angel up to the Basilica of S. Foca. On this occasion you will be able to admire one of the most exciting moments of this religious festivity, in which the Priolese children, wearing white clothes, perform the little angels parade.

La third procession, the main one, occurs on 2 October, which sees the passage of the Guardian Angel through the historic streets of the city, followed by both the crowd of faithful and the fireworks.
