What to do at the Feast of the Madonna delle Grazie in Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea

The Feast of the Madonna delle Grazie retraces many historical events that link the city of Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea with the cult of Maria Santissima delle Grazie. It all started from one legend, according to which the statue of the Madonna was transported by some oxen, which, once they arrived in Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea, decided to interrupt their journey, stopping as far as the small Mazzarrese church.

This anecdote is still interpreted today as a miracle, as well as being the very object of the Feast of the Madonna delle Grazie, which intends to re-propose it during the traditional Religious procession.
The festivities begin with the "scinduta da Madonna", i.e. the exit of the Madonna who from the Mother Church of Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea is then transported through the city streets.

During the passage of the Simulacrum of the Madonna, you will be able to notice the involvement of the Mazzarrese, so much so that in the neighborhoods of Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea all the faithful welcome the arrival of the Madonna with the waving of white handkerchiefs and by many fireworks that color the sky with splendid pyrotechnic choreography.
