Condrò, in the Metropolitan City of Messina, is a small municipality in north-eastern Sicily, which is just 12 km from Milazzo. The town, populated by about 460 people, is known for its churches, convents and above all for the cathedral.

Il Cathedral of Condro it is a Catholic religious building with Roman rite and its construction began in 1571; currently the Church belongs to the Archdiocese of Messina-Lipari.

The temple is named after Maria Santissima del Tindari and San Vito and today there are many faithful and tourists who come to this Church to attend the functions, but also to admire the numerous and wonderful works of art that are kept inside.

What is possible to do in the Cathedral of Condrò and in the surrounding areas

Staying in Condrò, you can visit various churches in the town, such as the Church of the Santissima Annunziata of 1601 or the Church of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria of the following century, Convents such as that of the Paolotti Friars, of which the ancient ruins and of course the Condrò Cathedral remain. Here you can attend Mass, and then stop to admire the beautiful works of art found in the Church, such as theHigh Altar or the splendid Wooden pulpit.

After visiting the Cathedral and the Churches of Condrò, it is also possible to stop at some of the town's civil architecture, such as the Palace of the Princes of Resuttano.

Condrò is located about 6 km from the Tyrrhenian coast of Sicily and is therefore very easy to reach some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, such as Fondachello beach, Spadafora o Rometta Tide: from these beaches it is also possible to go to the small coastal towns rich in history and art, to visit after a day at the seaside. If you have a few more days available, you can reach Milazzo and visit the city and the port, and then embark towards the wonderful Aeolian Islands.

From Condrò you can get to Messina with a short journey of about 40 minutes: in the big city you can then see the Church of the Santissima Annunziata dei Catalani, the Orione Fountain, the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Montalto; there is no shortage of cultural opportunities, as you will discover by visiting the Regional Interdisciplinary Museum of Messina and nature will also offer you its open-air show, when you stop to admire the Strait of Messina from the Fort of the Santissimo Salvatore.

During yours vacation in Sicily, indulge in everything the island offers you: taste the delicious local products, such as preserves, cheeses and cured meats to be purchased directly from the numerous farms in the area and choose typical restaurants to try the best traditional dishes. How can you reach Condrò to visit the Duomo

Condrò, in the Metropolitan City of Messina, is only 30 km from the Strait and can be easily reached both by car and by train.

In the car, the closest exit to the town is the one for Milazzo-Isole Aeolian from the A20 Messina-Buonfornello, just 4,9 km from Condrò, while on the train Milazzo Station is the best way to reach the small village, about 6,5 km from the centre, continuing the journey by bus or shuttle.
