The Comb Festival in Caronia began in 1988, coming to life from an idea from the previous year; the first event to celebrate the local catch took place during a municipal festival, before becoming inextricably linked to the Feast of the Santissima Annunziata. The creators of the festival were Doruccio Buzzanca and Pietro La Falce.

This event is aimed at promoting local fishing activity and fish comb, typical of the area, a fish that can reach 25 cm in length and lives hidden in the sand for most of the year.
