Church of Santa Maria della Visitazione in Pace del Mela

La Church of Santa Maria della Visitazione in Pace del Mela, a locality located in province of Messina, was erected by the will of the Cassinesi Benedictine monks who resided at the Maddalena Monastery of Messina.
The inauguration instead took place on December 8, 1766 by Monsignor Gabriele Maria Di Blasi, at the time archbishop of Messina.
The building has a crypt which unfortunately is no longer accessible today.

The building is white in color and has three portals, while inside there are several works of art, including several paintings made in the second half of the eighteenth century by the hand of unknown artists.
The most significant ones are found in the sacristy aimed at respectively representing the portrait of Don Giacono Crisafi (dean and cellarer of the Monastery of San Placido Calonerò) and that of Gabriel Maria Di Blasi, archbishop of Messina.
On the 2nd of July each year, one is celebrated feast in honor of Our Lady of the Visitation, which contemplates a processional procession and various live shows.
