The Mother Church of San Francesco di Assisi was built in 1607, inaugurated on the day of Christmas, as evidenced by an ancient document recovered in the city archive.

The building, despite having been renovated several times over the centuries, continues to maintain the same architectural style with which it was conceived at the beginning of the early seventeenth century.
Among the most important expansions that are remembered, there are those related to the construction of the bell tower placed to the right of the Mother Church of San Francesco di Assisi, built on several occasions. In fact, the works for the construction of this bell tower began in 1700 and were only completed in 1804.
