The Church of San Nicola di Bari in Chiusa Sclafani is in neoclassical style and presents itself with a typical Latin cross plan, with a grandiose dome located in the intersection between the transept and what is the central nave. The two side naves, on the other hand, are characterized by the presence of numerous niches which are made even more precious by the presence of polychrome stuccos which are the result of the work of master Bernardo Sesta da Serradifalco who worked on the site at the end of the XNUMXth century.
Among the most noteworthy works of art there is certainly the oil canvas representing "Adoration of the Magi with San Marco" and which was created by Cornelio Fiammingo at the end of the sixteenth century: initially it was located in the adjacent convent , then it was decided to move it to the church.
There is also an Annunciation which was created in the XNUMXth century by the artist Andrea Carreca and a wooden statue of the Madonna which is a work of the Neapolitan school of the XNUMXth century. Finally, on the central altar there is the wooden statue representing San Nicola di Bari and which is carried in triumph on the day of the patronal feast.

How to get to Chiusa Sclafani

From Trapani, on the other hand, you must prefer the road that first takes the A209 and then the E933, while from Catania you follow the A19 and then the SS640, from Syracuse only the A19.

Those who move from Messina will have to take the road that favors the A20 and then the E90 as a reference, while from Agrigento the SS115 should be chosen. Finally, from Enna and Caltanissetta, first take the SS640 and then the SS115.

The village no longer has its own railway station, so those who prefer to travel on the train they will have to refer to that of Lercara Bassa and then continue with the bus numbers premises of the AST.
