La Church of San Vito in Chiaramonte Gulfi, in the Diocese of Ragusa, stands elegantly in via Michelangelo. Like many other churches in the country, the building is ancient and beautiful; built in the sixteenth century, the church is dedicated to San Vito, who during the sixteenth century was loudly elected by the faithful Patron Saint of Chiaramonte Gulfi, for having saved the town from an epidemic of plague. In the middle of the century the faithful re-elected Santa Maria la Vetere as Patroness, but the Church remained consecrated to the martyr of Mazzara del Vallo. Many centuries later, in 1927, the already beautiful building was further enriched with the construction of the bell tower behind the church, while the statue of San Vito dates back to the XNUMXth century.

Two niches overlook the churchyard laterally, while the lower order is delimited by a wonderful floral decoration in bas-relief.
The small size of the Church and of the decorations translate into precious and very refined details: each ornament is sculpted with meticulousness, and so in the upper order we find a niche of the Saint which is located just above the door, and inside it is kept there statue of San Vito.
