In Via Madre Chiesa in Bompietro, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, there is the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the most important Catholic place of worship in the country, a spiritual meeting place and custodian of the artistic memory of the village.

La Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Bompietro is a wonderful eighteenth-century building, located in the ancient heart of the town: the date of construction, at the end of the eighteenth century, is written on the plaque in memory of the building, which recalls how the whole Bompietri community contributed to the implementation of the Mother Church. The bell tower, on the other hand, was built by the Pollara family in 1900.

The Roman bridge is another of the area's attractions, which you cross to reach the hamlet of Fasano a Petralia Soprana: we advise you to make a stop in this delightful village, because on the top of its over one thousand meters of height it hides beautiful churches such as the 20th century Cathedral, the Church of Santa Maria di Loreto and the Church of the Santissimo Salvatore, but also palaces historians such as Villa Sgadari and the remains of the eighteenth-century aqueduct, which together with the other monuments of Petralia, tell a story of almost a thousand years. Even earlier, however, this area was populated and full of history, so it is still possible to look for traces of it. Petralia Soprana is about XNUMX km from Bompietro: arriving in the village, you will also be able to admire the beauty of the Madonie Park and why not, maybe go on an excursion in the mountains.

How is it possible to get to Bompietro

Bompietro, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo and a few steps from the Madonie Park, can be easily reached in the car, via the A29 Palermo-Catania from the exit for Irosa; Also on the train, arriving is simple and just get off at Caltanissetta Central Station, to find buses or shuttles that will accompany you on the journey of about 29 km to the center.
