Most of the historical reconstructions relating to the Caseggiato Mannino are obtained from some documents found in the city archive.
The date of its construction is uncertain, but it can be said that the Clarenza family, from which the city takes its name, owned it for a long time. At first it was inhabited only sporadically by the Clarenzas themselves, who subsequently decided to rent some parts of it to obtain an income, given their definitive transfer to the royal residence located in Catania.

After the Clarenzas, the building was inhabited by other influential nobles, the Mannino family, especially in the figure of Cavaliere Antonio Mannino, who in the 50s also became the mayor of San Pietro Clarenza. In reality, the building did not belong to the Knight but to his brother, so much so that his nieces, once adults, claimed ownership.
