Camporeale Day

46 km from Palermo, in north-western Sicily, there is the Municipality of Camporeale: almost 3 inhabitants, an artistic and architectural heritage full of gems to be discovered and, above all, a lively cultural life: the flagship event in the October, here, is the Camporeale Day, a manifestation that enhance the area and promotes activities and local productions of Belice Valley.

The Camporeale Day program takes place over the course of two days: on the morning of the first day it begins with the opening of the exhibition stands, where it will be possible to shop; the day continues with many visits to the main monuments of the village, such as the Prince's Palace Museum,oil mill and the many Camporeale cellars, with the alternation of cooking shows and conferences, to learn how to cook according to tradition. In the evening we say goodbye after the live concert and the DJ set, making an appointment for the next day! The party resumes in the morning, with guided tours, stops in the best cellars of the village, cooking lessons and always different cultural activities, such as the presentation of a book, the parade of motorcycles and vintage cars or a new live concert.

The history of Camporeale Day

Camporeale Day was created to promote local culture, involving inhabitants of the village and neighboring villages in the discovery of the typical flavors of Camporeale, craftsmanship, exhibitions of local artists and all the tastiest flavors of thelocal food and wine.
Naturally the invitation is extended to all those who wish to find out more about Camporeale; not surprisingly, welcoming tourists is one of the cornerstones on which the organization of Camporeale Day is based, with the involvement of villas, B&Bs, farmhouses and hotels in the area to best accommodate visitors.

With the patronage of the Municipality of Camporeale, this great event has been organized since 2013 by the Pro Loco of Camporeale, to discover another Sicily, in addition to that of the sea and the beaches, a Sicily to be experienced even in autumn!

Camporeale Day takes place in Camporeale, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo. In the village, the places to remember are above all those of the Prince's Palace Museum and Baglio wine shop, both located in Via Atrio Principe, in the historic center of Camporeale.

What to do during Camporeale Day

Get ready for a marathon of taste, art and entertainment, concentrated in two days to experience all in one go: delicious traditional dishes prepared with genuine ingredients such as local olive oil, wine from the Belice cellars, tasty cold cuts and cheeses and then, cooking lessons, fashion shows, concerts and live shows will involve the whole family in Camporeale.

Furthermore, by staying in the village, you will have the opportunity to discover a beautiful historic centre, which is rich in monuments such as the Mother Church of Sant'Antonio da Padova, built in the XNUMXth century, the Baronial Castle late seventeenth century and Prince's Palace, located inside the Jesuit Baglio.
Here you can visit the Camporeal Museum, dedicated to local activities and artistic works and connected to the Valle del Belice museum network, but also to taste excellent wines at the nearby wine shop.
In the village there are also the archaeological Museum, Municipal Library , picture gallery, to really satisfy all the tastes of visitors, but that's not all, because walking outdoors through the streets of the historic center, you can follow an artistic journey in search of the Camporeale triptych, With murals of the Farmer, of the Rifugium Peccatorum and of the Carpenter.
If you are willing to go a little further away from the centre, you can also visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Sinners at the top of the Rock.

Camporeale, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, can be easily reached by car or train.

Who arrives on the train, you can get off at Piraineto Station, where you will find buses and shuttles going to the centre, about 30 km away.
Who travels with the own car, can take the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo and then take the exit for Gallitello, which is only 13 km from Camporeale.
