The construction of the Cathedral of San Vincenzo Ferreri dates back to 1629, the same year in which, on 5 April, according to the documents found, Casteltermini was founded at the behest of the Baron Giovanni Vincenzo Maria Termini and Ferreri.
The construction of this place of worship involved all the first inhabitants of Casteltermini, so much so that each of them participated in its construction by paying a fee.
The first construction saw the Cathedral of Casteltermini equipped with only the central nave. The current building, on the other hand, is the result of the extension works that were carried out in 1883 by the architect Peter Burgio, which enlarged it considerably.
