The beaches of Castellammare del Golfo: Cala Petrolo

Starting from the city, the closest beaches are Lido Petrolo and the beach of Castellammare, La Playa.

The beach it is located less than 2 km from the centre, in an easterly direction. It can be reached on foot or by public transport, reaching the establishments along the beach, where there are also stretches of free beach. THE'beach is sandy and the depths are not very deep, that's why La Playa is mostly chosen by families with younger children, as it is a quiet beach, equipped and always clean. Here it is possible to swim, enjoying all the comforts just a stone's throw from the city.

The other beach of Castellammare del Golfo is without a doubt Cala Petrolo, which constitutes the very view of the city on the sea: very close to the historic center, the beach is located just 100 meters from via Mura and is not very extensive, but for this reason it is undoubtedly a quiet destination, for those who want to spend a few now in the sun, without leaving the city. The water of the cove is naturally transparent and the free beach it is very scenic, surrounded by city bricks behind it, while it overlooks the intense blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
