The most significant place in the municipality of Librizzi is without a doubt the Mother Church, a building dating back to the fifteenth century and erected, according to an ancient legend, on the site of the Bricchinai castle.
Inside there is the statue of San Michele Arcangelo and to reach it you need to navigate the narrow streets of the town.
Another church not to be missed is that of Madonna della Catena, totally rebuilt around 1850 due to the extensive damage caused by a strong landslide.
Inside you can admire frescoes created by Alfonso Gioco in the XNUMXs, a wooden ceiling plus the majestic statue of the Madonna della Catena, whose creation has been attributed to the Gagini school.

Librizzi Sicily what to do

A rather interesting activity to do in the municipality of Librizzi is to visit the Emigration Memory Museum, a small exhibition space aimed at telling, through images and objects, the numerous migratory flows towards the United States and Australia which occurred during the twenties, fifties and sixties. Many everyday products have been repaired by the owners themselves, as they are decidedly poor, just think of plates sewn with string.

For those who love to immerse themselves in nature, we recommend a healthy walk at the Librizzi-Pantano-Portella path two crosses, marked with the number 239, where you can admire numerous species of local flora and fauna.
The two most important festivals should not be overlooked, namely the Feast of Our Lady of the Chain, whose state is carried on the shoulders of 24 faithful who walk barefoot and the Macaroni Festival, organized in the first days of August and capable of attracting thousands of gourmets from all over Sicily.
