What to do in Marineo
The things that catch the eye most in the village of Marineo are essentially two: the devotion to San Ciro and the symbol of the village, the Beccadelli Castle.
San Ciro is celebrated twice during the year by the entire town of Marineo, La patronal feast the most heartfelt is the one that takes place on the penultimate Sunday of August. The relics of the Saint are kept inside the Mother Church of Marineo, an important religious building in the country. The Beccadelli Castle, also called Castello di Marineo, represents the monument that most characterizes the area.
Among the events not to be missed, which are repeated every year in Marineo, we also find the Living Nativity, inspired by ancient medieval traditions and set in 1223.
How to get around Marineo
Marineo it is a small village, as such we don't find many means of public transport, although there is some bus numbers. By car:, to get from Palermo to the town of Marineo it is necessary to take the Ss121 while from Palermo the road to take is the E90. Those moving from Messina will have to choose first the A20 and then the E90 while from Catania the reference road is the A19. Finally, from Syracuse, you must first take the A19 and then finish the journey on the E932 to your destination.
Marineo does not have its own train station but those who wish to travel with the train can refer to that of Palermo Maredolce or Dei Mille-Torrelunga and from there continue with the lines of local buses made available by the AST company.
